A complete business website solution

Friday, June 25, 2010 12:05 PM

The internet continues to expand, so much so that the current domain name system will have to be changed to cope with the demand for websites in the not too distant future.

More and more people, particularly young people, are accessing the internet via their mobile phone. The internet is their first port of call for information and entertainment. As they get older and move into the world of work the internet will be an essential tool for finding suppliers, new products and promoting their businesses.

The popularity of the internet is only going to increase and more and more business is going to be done online. Businesses that adapt to this model will thrive, whilst those that don't have an online presence at all, or don't put in any effort to promoting themselves online will struggle.

If you are looking for your first business website we offer a omplete package that will allow you to host your own website, send and receive emails, generate more visitors for your website and thus more enquiries for your business.

A business website starts with website hosting. This includes the purchase of your domain name (eg. www.bestbusinessphonedeals.co.uk), the webspace to put your new website on, bandwidth to allow visitors access to your site and email addresses for you to use for online communication. Our standard charge for this is £9.95 per month.

Then you need your website designed. Depending on your business this might be as little as a single page or several hundred pages with integrated shopping cart and payment facilities. As a guide we will produce a new website for you with 10 pages included for as little as £250.

Once your new website is designed, built and online it needs to be promoted to gain a ranking in the search engines (primarily Google). We offer a SEO service (Search Engine Optimisation) starting from £100 per month. The aim is always to produce enough online business to pay for itself quickly and get you into profit, steadily increasing, within 6 months.

As a special offer for new business website customers we are offering an inclusive deal for ALL of the above for just £100 per month. Effectively you are getting your website hosting, design and build for free.

A 12 month contract is all we ask which should give us enough time to have your website thriving online. For business website enquiries call us on 0115 944 8977 or complete our online enquiry form.

Business phone number

Wednesday, June 23, 2010 10:14 AM

Your business will be contacted many times each day via its published phone number. But how much thought has been given to the number itself, how easy it is for customers to remember, are there reasons for customers NOT to call. Is your business phone number helping or hindering your contact with customers?

In recent years there has been a shift towards non-geographical numbers for businesses. These were originally 0845 numbers, which were charged at local rate, but many are now using 0844 numbers, with a variety of different charging options, and 0870/0871 numbers which can be extremely expensive.

At the same time customers have moved away traditional landline suppliers and many are now using mobile phones to call. Most mobile users now realise that these calls are chargeable, regardless of their mobile contract, and can be exorbitantly expensive particularly if the call lasts several minutes. This also applies to freephone numbers (0800) which are not free from mobile phones!

One of the reasons to use a non-geographical number for business is the opportunity to earn an income from it. Some businesses are getting 1p per minute or more on each incoming call - reason enough to make the call as long as possible with long holds and endless menus before actually speaking to someone!

An alternative to these numbers is the 03 non-geographical number. This is charged at exactly the same rate as an 01 or 02 landline call to your customers. This means that it can be called from a mobile out of any inclusive minutes. Customers who are put off ringing 08 numbers from their mobiles can have no objections to ringing an 03 number - this makes them ideal for sales lines where you actively want to encourage more calls.

03 numbers can also be memorable. Rather than a random selection of numbers you can make your number "golden" making it easy for people to recall when they need to. It also makes a good impression with customers when they see it on your stationery, business cards etc.

03 numbers are fully manageable and portable. You can take them with you whenever you move, they are not restricted to any area. This means you can keep the number for life. You can also configure it so that it rings you wherever you are, be it on landline or mobile phone.

Best Business Phone Deals offer a variety of non-geographical telephone numbers to customers throughout the UK. We can advise you on the best rates and how to get the best results from your new number.

Best business phone deals blog resurrected!

Tuesday, June 15, 2010 11:41 AM

Unfortunately, due to technical problems, the old Best Business Phone Deals blog has had to be discontinued. To cut a long story short our web guy's computer imploded and there doesn't seem any easy way to move the old blog pages. It has been easier just to start afresh with a new blog, leaving the old one in its existing place.

We operate a number of blogs utilising different software to power them. This one used Thingamablog, an offline software solution, which means that all of the old files and settings were stored on the doomed laptop. Other blogs utilising online software such as WordPress and DasBlog remain unaffected.

So the moral of the story is to utilise online blog software or make sure you have a proper backup in place in the event of disaster!
