The simplest method is to get a virtual landline number with in-built call management features. If you have an existing landline number you want to keep it can often be ported into the virtual number system.

You then have complete control over where these landline calls go via a real-time web interface. You can choose to divert to another landline, a mobile, a mixture of the two, groups of either - there are numerous options available.

As well as control over routing you also receive information relating to the inbound calls. This makes a virtual number ideal for a new sales campaign enabling you to see the ROI.

You can also take out "local" numbers wherever you are, giving you a presence in other areas. For instance a company based in London can utilise a local Leeds number for campaigns/support aimed at people within this area.

Unified Communications

Several mobile networks now offer a combined landline and mobile solution. The best known of these is Vodafone One Net.

You can take out one or more landline numbers which is held by the network. When this number is called your mobile/s ring. With the Vodafone solution there are no diverts as such and no diverted call costs.
